Challenge Our analysis of the current town waste management scenario, taking into consideration various parameters, has demonstrated the need to evolve a process that effectively treats town waste as a whole. All the processes being used currently (incineration, bio-gas, etc.), each target a part of the waste respectively, raising the question about what is to be done with the untreated portion. Another important consideration is the fact that all the currently used processes have generated and are generating negative ROI (returns on investment). Opportunity The best bet, keeping in mind the several and varied influencing factors, is to arrive at a combination of processes, that are either already in use or being researched and developed, to treat town waste as a whole.
We also envision a
future scenario when the primary waste collection and management (civic)
body will have to pay a service fee to the corporate or other private
organizations that take up the business of waste management making it an
interesting business proposition in the long run. |
